I read the thread, it takes a while now that it's so long, and I have a few questions/comments... but first for the devs I completely sign with this idea, but I would like for you to look at the Low Sec MkII - piratetization of Bandit country idea as the devs are already looking at this idea. So my comments
the distances between the star should show up in the scanner as Light years right? I think that the map should show this much as they do now with the gates but having the distances betweent he stars in light years...does this idea address this?
IĈd like to see the NavComputer be a module that you can improve, that way accuracy can be improved, while it will never be perfect, it would be cool to have the standard low grade one very unpredictable, making jumping a risk. Also, the same with the jump drives increasing the range, while IĈm not talking enormous bonus here 2-5% like every other module, it would be cool to have a little risk in this like a fleet member 3 or 4 hundred km away or maybe 1AU if that ship had the really cheap low end version of this NavCom. This will also tie this concept to the economy.
Why does the device that you put in place for sov pull everyone out of warp? That would get annoying for alliance members that will always get stopped by these devices. While I know the OP is The Real Space, this is a game, so could we have this set up as a choice for the allaince that owns it?
Notes on the Oort cloud, with CCP looking into ôhomesö there should be a way for a pirate to anchor a small outpost that say two or three people can use to stash ships and loot.
also, I came up for an idea on 'active radars' for ships. That way you were not constantly having to hit scan to have up to the minute tactical information. do you think that this could work with your idea? have a look, I hope the link works; it's in this forum under tactical eviroments.
